Dr. Analia Veitz-Keenan to be Honored with ADA/AADR Evidence-based Dentistry Award
Dr. Analia Veitz-Keenan, clinical professor of oral and maxillofacial pathology, radiology and medicine and director of evidence-based dentistry in the Department of Epidemiology & Health Promotion, will receive the 2019 ADA/AADR Evidence-based Dentistry (EBD) Accomplished Faculty Award at the annual ADA meeting in San Francisco in September. The award is presented to educators and clinicians who have made significant contributions to implementing and advancing evidence-based dentistry. In 2011, Dr. Veitz-Keenan spearheaded a partnership between NYU Dentistry and the Cochrane Collaboration, which produces the Cochrane Reviews, considered the gold standard for evidence-based healthcare. Notably, competence in evidence-based dentistry is now being highlighted in the new integrated National Board Dental Examination.
This marks the second consecutive year in which the prestigious EBD Award has gone to an NYU Dentistry faculty member, last year's award having gone to Dr. Richard Niederman, professor and chair of the Department of Epidemiology & Health Promotion.
