On June 1, 2015, the Class of 2015, including over 350 candidates for the degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery, the AAS and BS degrees in dental hygiene, Advanced Education Program certificates, MS degrees in clinical research, and the MS degree in biomaterials, saw their dreams come true as they received their degrees and certificates before an audience of approximately 3,000 people in The Theatre at Madison Square Garden.

CTOR Fellows' Presentations Selected by European Orthodontic Society for Annual Conference

The 91st Congress of the European Orthodontic Society (EOS) has selected two oral presentations and nine poster presentations submitted by five current CTOR (Consortium for Translational Orthodontic Research) fellows and nine CTOR alumni, as well as by DDS students and postgraduate students in orthodontics at NYU, for its 2015 conference in Venice, Italy, from June 13 to 18. CTOR's participation will be the largest by any group at the conference.

Five TIDE Fellows Publish Reviews in the Journal of Dental Education

The five authors contributed to a new JDE feature that debuted in January 2015 called "Peer Education: Reviews of the Literature (PERLs)."

On Sunday, March 29, 2015, the NYU Dentistry Anatomy Club coordinated a highly successful implant dentistry workshop sponsored by Nobel Biocare at their facility in Mahwah, New Jersey. Forty-five DDS students participated.

Register Now for the NYC Oral Cancer Walk, April 19, 2015!
April 1, 2015
The 10th annual NYC Oral Cancer Walk will take place on Sunday, April 19, 2015, starting at Commodore Barry Park (Flushing Avenue, corner of Navy Street, Brooklyn). Registration begins at 9 am, followed by welcoming ceremonies at 10 am, and the approximately four-mile walk begins at 11 am.
Students from NYU's Colleges of Dentistry and Nursing, and from local chapters of the Student National Dental Association (SNDA), will partner with Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, Stony Brook Health Sciences Center, Rutgers University School of Dental Medicine, Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center, the Oral Cancer Foundation, the Oral Cancer Consortium, the NYU Oral Cancer Center, Colgate and other sponsors to help stamp out oral cancer. NYU’s dental office on wheels, Smiling Faces, Going Places, will be onsite to offer free oral cancer screenings.
For more information, including directions and transportation, please go to www.oralcancerwalknyc.org, where you can register for the event and/or sponsor a walker or one of the teams. The first 750 registered walkers will receive free T-shirts with the Oral Cancer Walk logo.
