Message From the Chair

john mcdevitt

The future challenges associate with the delivery of high quality yet affordable health care are significant. The resulting health care gaps are caused in part by an older population ridden with diabetes, cardiac heart disease, oral cancer and other maladies. In order to grow with the ever increasing demands for quality care, it is becoming increasingly evident that new technologies, next generation materials, novel processes and high performance biosensors are desperately needed.

Welcome to the NYU Biomaterials web site. Our department has a long tradition of developing new biomaterials that have impact on oral and systemic conditions. Recently, we have expanded our focus to include powerful biosensor systems that are tailored for significant health conditions.

We welcome you to follow our activities as we work together to improve the delivery of health care on a global basis.
