The development of multimedia teaching materials for clinical techniques, to aid in teaching students skills and calibrating faculty in the core curriculum.
Dr. Daryl Styner graduated from New York University, College of Dentistry in 1978. Following graduation, Dr. Styner maintained a private practice in NYC, and shortly thereafter, in Connecticut. In 1988, Dr. Styner initially returned to the College of Dentistry part-time, in the department of Operative Dentistry. In 1990, Dr. Styner, was appointed to a full-time position, as Assistant Professor, to serve as coordinator for the NERB Program in Operative Dentistry from 1990-1993, after which, through the Division of Reconstructive and Comprehensive Care, her focus became pre-clinical skill development courses in the Department of Prosthodontics. She has published articles on dental materials relating to restorative dentistry and oral care products, as well as, clinical techniques relevant to mainstream private practice. Since 1997, Dr. Styner, has focused on multimedia technology as it relates to teaching both students, and faculty. In 2002, Dr. Styner received her certificate in Multimedia Technology, after completing more than 120 hours of course work at New York University, School of Continuing and Professional Studies, Information Technologies Institute. At this time, her primary focus is developing multimedia teaching tools for the Division of Reconstructive and Comprehensive Care. Dr. Styner, presently holds the rank of Associate Professor, and is the Director of Educational Multimedia Development.
