Dr. Peltz graduated New York University College of Dentistry in 1983. She began teaching part-time at the College of Dentistry in 1994, and accepted a full-time position in 2001. Presently, Dr. Peltz is one of fourteen Group Practice Directors. As a Group Practice Director, Dr. Peltz monitors the academic and clinical progress of fifty junior and senior pre-doctoral dental students assigned to her Group Practice. Dr. Peltz received a Masters in Higher Education Administration at the School of Public Affairs, Baruch College, The City University of New York in June, 2005, where she received a merit scholarship awarded by Baruch College for three consecutive years, and was finally awarded the Baruch College Alumni Association Graduate Award in Education. She was awarded New York University College of Dentistry’s Student Council Appreciation Award in 2004. She was inducted into the Pierre Fauchard Academy in June 2006, became a Fellow in the American College of Dentists in October 2005, and was admitted to the Omega Chapter of Omicron Kappa Upsilon in May 2005. She received a Masters in the Academy of General Dentistry in 2007. Dr. Peltz is a Fellow in the American Dental Education Association’s Leadership Institute. She became a fellow in the New York Academy of Medicine in 2011.
In addition to these honors and activities, Dr. Peltz completed a tooth whitening study at the College of Dentistry’s Bluestone Center for Clinical Research, and has presented education, leadership and research posters at ADEA and AADR/IADR annual meetings. Dr. Peltz is on the board of the College’s Faculty Council and is a past president of the Alumni Association. She is the Mentor Coordinator at NYUCD for the American Dental Association Mentoring Initiative, and was elected ADEA Council of Faculties Representative for New York University College of Dentistry. Dr. Peltz is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Administration, Leadership and Technology program in Higher and Postsecondary Education at New York University's Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development.
