The core aspiration that makes NYU Dentistry different from other dental schools is our commitment to strike a balance among technical excellence in dental education, scientific judgment in assessing the dental literature, and emotional intelligence – that indefinable something more that people expect in a doctor, such as being ethical, sympathetic, and caring in their relationships, as well as comfortable with themselves and others in their environment.

• Size: As the largest dental school in the US, educating nearly 10 percent of our nation's dentists, and with approximately 300,000 patient visits per year, NYU Dentistry has unique resources — and resources mean increased opportunities for students, and increased opportunities mean professional growth and development, including unparalleled leadership opportunities and real-world experience.
  
  
• Location: NYU Dentistry’s New York City location, in the heart of the NYU Health Sciences corridor in Manhattan, enables students to explore and expand their potential by sharing ideas with people from around the world, including NYU nursing, medical, and biomedical students, who are currently or soon will be located just steps away from the main NYU Dentistry campus. Our location also allows us to leverage both the media and industry in ways that other schools cannot do, which, in turn, increases the luster of an NYU degree.
  
  
• Global brand: As part of NYU’s Global Network University (GNU), whose 13 academic study centers worldwide have made it a global brand, NYU dental students have virtually limitless opportunities to participate in public health initiatives in a global setting.
