Mother, Brother, Uncle, Cousin All Chose NYU College of Dentistry
Daria Royzman, Class of 2001, has received the Dr. Bernard P. Tillis Award for Excellence in Dental Journalism. The Tillis Award was established in 1996 by Mrs. Bella Tillis in honor of her late husband, Dr. Bernard P. Tillis, a 1936 graduate of the NYU College of Dentistry who served for 22 years as editor of the New York State Dental Journal. Ms. Royzman is editor-in-chief of the NYU dental-student publication, Aspirations, and the national editor of the American Student Dental Association News.
Daria is not the first Royzman to study dentistry at NYU. Her mother, Dr. Zitta Royzman, graduated from NYU in 1984 and is today a clinical assistant professor at the College. Her mother’s brother, Dr. Steven Poznyansky, is also an NYU-educated dentist, Class of 1987, and Daria’s brother Daniel graduated from NYU in 1999 and is currently studying postgraduate periodontics at Harvard University. This fall Daria’s cousin, Arkady Poznyansky, entered NYU Dentistry as a freshman.
