Dr. Gustav Durrer Scholarship Fund to Provide Increased Support to Dental Students

Dr. Gustav Durrer is a Swiss-trained dentist who served on the NYU Dentistry faculty from 1987 to 1992. In 1998, he returned to the faculty as a clinical professor of restorative and prosthodontic sciences. In appreciation of his association with NYU Dentistry, Dr. Durrer and his wife, Dr. Margot Durrer, last year made a generous gift to the College to establish the Dr. Gustav Durrer Endowed Dental Scholarship Fund. Recently, the Drs. Durrer further strengthened their bond with NYU Dentistry by designating a second major gift to the fund.

"Faculty-driven philanthropy is especially important to the College," said Dean Alfano. "When faculty support the College, they are leading the way, setting a standard for other friends of the institution. They are also displaying enormous pride in their appointments and in the College's future. Drs. Gustav and Margot Durrer understand how philanthropy can assist the next generation of dentists and dental researchers, and we salute them for their vision and their friendship."
