Advanced Esthetics and Occlusion for the GP

Designed for general practitioners who possess basic skills and knowledge in composite resin and crown & veneer preparation, this course will teach you to comprehensively diagnose, formulate, and execute a treatment plan in the esthetic zone. It utilizes a multidisciplinary approach emphasizing prosthodontics, occlusion, periodontics, orthodontics and implantology.

Course length

The course is 8 months from September 2022 to May 2023.

Tuesdays

Fall Sessions (pre-clinical)

  • 9:00 am – 12:00 pm Hands-on
  • 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm Lecture

Remaining Sessions (clinical)

  • 8:30 am – 12:00 pm Clinic
  • 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm Lecture

Course Size

A maximum of 8 participants are enrolled in the course.

Tuition and Costs

Tuition

For the 2022/2023 academic year, two tuition tiers are available. There is a one-time $950 registration fee for both tiers.

Tier 1: NYU will screen and provide a suitable and appropriate patient who will be accepted as a patient of the NYU College of Dentistry.  

Cost: $13,500

  • First installment: $4,700
  • Second installment: $4,400
  • Final installment: $4,400

Tier 2: Participants are required to provide their own patient who NYU will
screen and, if suitable and appropriate, will be accepted as a patient of the NYU College of Dentistry. Patient will be responsible for NYU treatment fees.

Cost: $11,500

$2,000 will be deducted from the final installment if you provide a patient who has been accepted into the program and completes treatment.

Articulator

Participants are required to purchase their own articulator, model TBD

Course Director

Dr. Michael Gulizio graduated magna cum laude, receiving his B.S. in Microbiology & Cell Science at the University of Florida in 1996. He pursued his dental degree at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and graduated summa cum laude in 2000. He was one of two individuals from his class to complete a Master's Degree in Education at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education, focusing on Professional Leadership.

After conferring his Doctorate in Dental Medicine, Dr. Gulizio pursued Prosthodontic specialty training at the University of Connecticut. There, he completed a rigorous residency program with strong emphasis on implant reconstruction, esthetic dentistry and removable prosthodontics, including dentures and partial dentures. He obtained his second Master's Degree in Dental Sciences, focusing on Implant-retained Overdentures, and was given the John J. Sharry award for his Master's thesis project. The associated manuscript was published in the Journal of Prosthodontics in March 2005, and is a widely referenced article on the subject — both nationally and internationally. In 2006, his publication was among the top 10 referenced dental articles in dental implant literature and even today, continues to be widely recognized as a very important contribution to dental implant literature.

Dr. Gulizio values the importance of continued education and regularly attends conferences, lectures and mini-residencies, as well as conducts lectures throughout the United States to other dentists and specialists on Dental Esthetics and Implant Dentistry. He is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
