Implantology: Surgical and Prosthetic Treatment
Implantology: Surgical and Prosthetic Treatment is a 2-year, part-time course designed for US-licensed dentists who wish to enhance their clinical skills in prosthetically driven implant dentistry. It meets one day a week, 35 sessions per year. The course also offers an observation option open to both US and internationally-trained dentists.
The focus of Implantology is on patient treatment and management. The curriculum is comprehensive and clinically oriented, with an emphasis on treatment planning using Cone Beam technology for optimized surgical and prosthetic planning.
Participants will have hands-on experience in patient treatment, improving their skills in extractions, bone and soft-tissue regeneration, and implant placement to support various types of fixture-assisted dental restorations, including screw-retained, cemented, and removable restorations.
During the two years, participants will work on four surgical implant cases as well as prosthetic cases. Additional surgical cases will be assigned if available. Participants are also encouraged to bring in their own patients for treatment under faculty supervision, which will be in addition to the cases we provide.
Upon completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate of attendance for 200 hours per year (total of 400 hours). The course also fulfills ICOI Fellowship requirements, and the Continuing Education (CE) hours can be applied towards AGD Fellowship and Mastership Track Award requirements.
