Admissions & Application Process
Application, Eligibility and Selection
The program participates in PASS (Postdoctoral Application Support Service); please apply on the ADEA website. The deadline for receipt of application materials is December 15th of the year prior to expected matriculation. Individuals with the following qualification are eligible for acceptance to the training program:
- Graduate from U.S. or Canadian dental school accredited by the institutions approved by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association.
- All applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents. Proof of citizenship and/ or green card must be provided before interview will be granted.
- All applicants must be eligible for New York State Licensure in Dentistry. This can be accomplished by passage of the North East Regional Dental Board Examination or state reciprocity. Medical Licensure is obtained in Year Five of the program. Dental Licensure must be obtained prior to entering Year Four of the program. All residents must obtain a New York State Limited Permit in Dentistry prior to matriculation in the program.
Background Check
Prior to matriculation, all students admitted to NYU Dentistry must complete a criminal background check, the results of which must be satisfactory. Learn more about the process from ADEA PASS.
