Frequently Asked Questions

There is a maximum of 4 authors per abstract accepted.

Students may be listed as authors, but the presentation must be given by a faculty member.

Yes, this information can be presented as part of the New Educational Idea category. Showcasing the idea will inspire others, which may lead to collaboration with colleagues who have similar interests, and may form the basis for an educational research project going forward. If any data was collected, this would constitute educational research, which would require IRB approval or exemption to present.

There is a maximum word count for the title at 10 words, and maximum of 250 words for the abstract.

Abstracts should include a background/purpose, methods/descriptions, and summary of findings/conclusions.

Abstracts are evaluated to determine originality and new information, appropriateness for the Showcase venue, nature of the topic, organization, and completeness.

There is a requirement for one of the authors, which must be a faculty member, to be available to present at the time the Showcase is being conducted.

Presenters will be presenting slides (5 maximum). However, a poster is requested in addition to use for archive purposes on the web page. Templates will be provided upon acceptance.

Presentations will be judged on design of the project/case/topic, originality and relevance, scientific relevance, and appearance. Prizes will be awarded.
