Research Interests / Professional Overview
Dr. Maria Marin graduated from the University of the Philippines College of Dentistry in 1962. After graduation, she served a Fellowship in Dentistry for Children at the Guggenheim Institute in NYC. She was a Dental resident at the Skinner Dental Clinic, Holyoke Hospital in Holyoke, Mass. for one year. From 1965-1967, she was a Fellow in Dentistry for Children at the J. Samuel's Dental Clinic, Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, RI. She briefly left Dentistry to work at St. Vincent's Hospital in NYC as a Supervisor in the Research/Blood Gas Laboratory, Department of Cardiology & Cardiac Surgery. She returned to Dentistry & graduated from the Institute of Foreign Graduates, New York University in 1983. She worked part time for the NYC Department of Health until 1989, while maintaining an active private practice. She took a course in Pedodontia at Columbia University & has a Certificate in Periodontia from the Albert Einstein Hospital. She has been with NYUCD sin! Since 1991 as a Volunteer, Instructor, & as Asst. Clinical Professor. She is a Dental Consultant for the Clinical Department of Episcopal Social Services, a job she has handled since 1992.
