Shortcuts in Esthetic Dentistry

Professor Hirata is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomaterials at NYU College of Dentistry. Professor Hirata also has a private dental clinic in Curitiba, Brazil, which focuses on Esthetic Dentistry. He is the coordinator of several post-grad programs with a focus on Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry in Brazil and lectures extensively on Esthetic Restorations in the US, in Europe, and in the Latin American countries.
Available in English, the Shortcuts Book is an extremely clinical book that points out problems and doubts as well as solutions. With step-by-step esthetic restorative procedures, it describes "recipes" in each clinical situation.
For each solution offered, the scientific basis and research data are pointed out in a specific part called "Why?", a guide based on science that encompasses the following questions "When to do it?", "How to do?", "Why to do it?", and "How to do it more simply?" in esthetic restorative procedures.
This clinically driven text focuses on the difficulties of esthetic restorative dentistry with the aim of revealing simple and practical solutions to common questions and problems. Each chapter is organized into a series of questions the reader may have; the book then answers these questions in detail using scientific evidence and case presentations. The author presents streamlined procedures step-by-step and provides numerous tips on how to implement the concepts described. Restoration strategies include guidance on recontouring, stratification schemes, layering techniques, characterization, occlusal concepts, and more. Accessible and minimalist in its approach, this deceptively thorough book demystifies contemporary esthetic dentistry and outlines simple and effective solutions for clinical practice. Clinicians will find themselves referring back to this text long after the first read-through for quick, easy-to-find answers and solutions to some of esthetic dentistry's most common problems.
