Junior Research Scientist
Maria Pacheco earned her DDS degree at Universidad de Concepción in Chile, her home country. Her interest in research led her to NYU Dentistry where she completed her MS in Biomaterials Science and studied the osteogenic properties of bioactive glass and beta-tricalcium phosphate scaffolds for bone regeneration. Her research interests include bone development and interventions for bone regeneration.

Niam Kataria
DDS Student
Niam Kataria earned his BS in Physiology from Western University in Canada and is currently a DDS student at NYU. His previous research examined the effects of nutritional yeast on various physiological aspects of Drosophila melanogaster. His research interests include craniofacial development and implantology.

Julie Kim
DDS Student
Julie Kim earned her BS in neuroscience and behavioral biology at Emory University and is currently a DDS student at NYU. Prior to dental school, Julie worked as a clinical research coordinator at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center where she managed clinical trials in lymphoma. Julie’s research interests include genetic regulatory networks underlying craniofacial development and applying genetic knowledge for early discovery and intervention of craniofacial disorders.
