Postdoctoral Associate

A postdoc position in developmental genetics is available immediately in Juhee Jeong Lab in the Department of Basic Science & Craniofacial Biology at New York University College of Dentistry, New York.

The incumbent will work on a project investigating genetic regulation of skull development and related birth defects using mouse mutants as a model system. Candidates should have a PhD in biology. Previous experience of working with mice is not necessary, but the applicants should be proficient in common molecular biology, biochemistry and cell biology techniques. In addition, they should be self-motivated and organized, and able to communicate effectively to work as a part of the team. Junior Research Scientist

New York University College of Dentistry is seeking a full-time Junior Research Scientist (research assistant) for Juhee Jeong lab within the Department of Basic Science and Craniofacial Biology. They will work on projects investigating molecular genetic mechanisms behind embryonic development and birth defects. They will assist the principal investigator’s research by performing basic molecular biology tasks such as PCR and gel electrophoresis, and DNA/RNA extraction. They will also learn techniques using mice as a model system for research, such as dissection and tissue staining.

Qualified applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Biology. The candidate should have experience of working in a laboratory, and proficiency in molecular biology techniques is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
