Biography
Dr. Lukasz Witek is currently an Assistant Professor in the Biomaterials Division at New York University College of Dentistry with affiliated positions at the Department of Biomedical Engineering at NYU’s Tandon School of Engineering and Hansjörg Wyss Department of Plastic Surgery at NYU’s Grossman School of Medicine. Dr. Witek received his PhD from the School of Chemical Engineering at Oklahoma State University with dissertation focused on utilizing 3D printing technology with bioceramics for regenerative medicine. He also holds a Master’s degree in Biomaterials Science from New York University’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.
Dr. Witek’s research interest includes the design of (bio)materials for the promotion of bone regeneration for both craniomaxillofacial and orthopedic applications. He has extensive experience in the fields of biomaterials, preclinical in vivo models, characterization of resorbable and non-resorbable biomaterials for dental and orthopedic applications.
Dr. Witek has authored/co-authored over 150 journal articles, served as guest editor for multiple journals as well served as chair at International Associate of Dental Research (IADR), Society for Biomaterials (SFB) and Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine (TERMIS).
