Emergency Services/Urgent Care

NYU College of Dentistry is located at 345 E. 24th Street (corner of First Avenue) in Manhattan.

Urgent care for patients pain, excessive bleeding, swelling, oral infection and/or trauma is provided with no appointment necessary, on a first-come, first-served basis, during the following times:

  • Monday – Thursday: 8:30 am – 4:00 pm*
  • Friday, 8:30 am – 3:00 pm

*SCHEDULE UPDATE: On Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2023, the last appointment for Urgent Care will start at 2:00 pm.

    

What you need for your first visit:

To become a patient at NYU College of Dentistry, proper identification is required at your first visit. You will need to bring:

  • Proof of Identification: License, State-Issued ID, or Passport.
  • Proof of Address: License, State-Issued ID, or a Bill in the Patient's Name.

For emergency care when NYU College of Dentistry is closed:

During times when the College of Dentistry is closed (see our Holiday/Closure Calendar here >>>), patients with pain, excessive bleeding, swelling, oral infection and/or trauma should seek treatment at their nearest hospital emergency room. The closest emergency room to NYU College of Dentistry is the Bellevue Hospital Emergency Room located at 462 1st Avenue (at 27th Street). You can call Bellevue Hospital directly at (212) 562-3015. Please note that emergency room fees and related expenses incurred at Bellevue Hospital are the responsibility of the patient.  

Fees Associated with Emergency Services/Urgent Care

Patients presenting for Emergency Services/Urgent Care will be assessed a $75 fee, which covers the cost of a limited examination and applicable radiographs. Palliative procedures to relieve patients from pain are charged additionally.
