Clinical Trials and Research Studies
All patients examined and treated at the NYU Oral Cancer Center are offered the opportunity to participate in clinical trials through the NYU Bluestone Center for Clinical Research.
A clinical trial is a research study in patients – some with and some without oral cancer – to evaluate the safety and efficacy of new tests or treatments for oral cancer. Clinical trial participants may be the first to benefit from successful new treatments or interventions.

Do you have oral pre-cancer or cancer?
Seeking volunteers to take part in a study exploring the causes of oral cancer and oral cancer pain. Oral cancer presents a significant health problem. The 5-year survival rate for oral squamous cell carcinoma is 40% and is among the worst of all sites in the body. This survival rate has not improved over the past 40 years.
